Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II and Warzone 2.0 Season 3 went live on April 12. However, the past two days have not turned out to be all that positive for the game and its fans with the latest updates. New bundles have been added, some of which are being considered by players to be a “pay-to-win” addition. Additionally, reports of discrepancies with ranked play rewards have also surfaced, and players, including celebrated personalities, have taken to the internet to express their disappointment. Here’s more on these developments.

Pay-to-Win Strategies in Call of Duty MW2 Season 3

Of the new additions that players have criticized, one would be the Bomb Squad Bundle. It lets you obtain more Active Duty Operator Slots, in addition to the 3 slots that you start with in the Warzone 2.0 DMZ mode. It also contains skin upgrades for the backpack, which lets players who buy the bundle carry more items, acting as a significant advantage in gameplay.

Another bundle named ‘Roze and Thorn’ adds an ability for Roze, granting her a permanent UAV (Unmanned Aerial Vehicle). With this, Roze will know where all her enemies are, throughout the entirety of the game.

That’s not all, Season 3 also brings a skin bundle for Konig, which comes with a free self-revive.

Fan react strongly to CoD Modern Warfare 2 latest updates

One cannot ignore the significant advantage in gameplay that can literally be bought with these bundles, thus making the DMZ mode a one-sided game. On top of that, recent leaks suggest that Call of Duty has plans to bring in more such “pay-to-win” bundles with upcoming updates. As a result, Call of Duty players are heavily criticizing the game’s latest affinity towards “pay-to-win” strategies.

On that note, one cannot not mention Dr Disrespect’s reaction to Call of Duty Season 3.

YouTuber JGOD has also put forth their verdict of the latest season.

Issues with Ranked Play Rewards for CoD MW II Season 2 Update

In other news, players have also reported to have not received their Ranked Play rewards for Season 2 of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II. To this, developers Treyarch Studios has addressed the issue, with a tweet informing that they are aware of the situation and are working toward a fix.

CoD Modern Warfare II to bring back classic gun sounds from MW2 2009

Moving on, here’s something that might add a few brownie points to this Season, which has received a ton of flak so far. A Throwback Pack: ’09 Weapon Audio Bundle brings back gun sounds from the original Modern Warfare 2 that has gone down in history as a classic. Intervention, a fan favorite sniper rifle, is set to return as the FJX Imperium Sniper Rifle as of yet. The price and release date of these bundles have not been revealed yet, though Modern Warfare 2 Season 3 is now live.
