Publisher Modus Games has announced during Gamescom 2022 that they are working with both internal and indie studios to create three brand new games titled Afterimage, Teslagrad 2, and God of Rock. All three titles will release for Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and PC.
Afterimage
Aurogon Shanghai has announced its new Metroidvania RPG Afterimage via a short teaser trailer, giving players a brief look at the enemies, attacks, and venues. Afterimage is a 2D side-scrolling action game that features a wide array of character abilities, soundtracks, and areas. According to the developer team, Afterimage will provide more than 25 hours of gameplay on the first walkthrough. In addition to the variety of enemies, the game features over ten character abilities to create a unique platformer experience.
The developer team has not given a firm release date for Afterimage, but it will hit all supported platforms later this year. PC players can now add the game to their wishlist on Steam to get notified of any future updates.
Teslagrad 2
The Norwegian indie studio Rain Games is working in collaboration with Modus Games to release puzzle platformer Teslagrad 2 in the Spring of 2023. As confirmed by the developer team, the sequel to the acclaimed Metroidvania game, Teslagrad, will take players to a ravaged world where they will explore hidden secrets while roaming around environments with beautiful landscapes. Players will also face challenging boss fights in the steampunk-themed universe, which they must prevail in order to proceed further. Teslagrad 2 emphasizes magnetic gameplay based on electromagnetic principles, just like the first game.
Teslagrad 2 does not have a solid release date at the time of writing, but it will release for Xbox, PlayStation, Switch, and PC via Steam in the Spring of 2023. We’re likely to hear more about the gameplay in the months ahead.
God of Rock
Modus Studios Brazil has unveiled a brand new fighting game titled God of Rock, which will release this winter for $29.99 USD. The upcoming 2D atmospheric game promises an exhilarating combat experience based on a limitless skill ceiling. God of Rock aims to blend rhythm-based gameplay with fighting game elements such as blocking, chaining, and grappling to create enjoyable hand-to-hand combat.
God of Rock features story, training, and track editor mode as well as online ranked multiplayer in which players will compete against other fighters around the globe. The game is now available to wishlist on Steam.
Gamescom 2022 is already underway, and a slew of new games and DLC reveals have players buzzing with anticipation. Modus Games will share more about the newly-announced games before release.
