Morocco World Cup fans go in on Chelsea boss Graham Potter live on TV before France clash | Football | Sport

A Morocco World Cup fan has hit out at Graham Potter and told the manager to leave the club over his use of Hakim Ziyech. The winger, who scarcely features for the Premier League club, has starred for Morocco on their incredible run to the World Cup semi-finals.

Morocco face France in their final-four clash on Wednesday evening. Sky Sports were filming fans making their way to the Al Bayt Stadium when a man clad in Moroccan gear took over the broadcast.

He then launched into a passionate rant about Potter and his use of Ziyech. He mocked the former Brighton head coach for not being in Qatar while Ziyech has reached the semi-final.

The individual starts gesticulating and shouts: “Graham Potter! Hakim Ziyech is gonna be in the final, bro. You’re losing, bro. Graham Potter, we need you out!”

“You’re not here,” the fan continued before pointing at the Al Bayt Stadium and adding, “Hakim Ziyech is there! See you, Graham Potter!”

Ziyech has been excellent for Morocco on their incredible World Cup run. Wahid Regragui’s side have beaten the likes of Spain and Portugal on their way to the final four.

They are the first African team to reach the semi-final in the tournament’s 92-year history. A win over France on Wednesday night would set up a thrilling final with Argentina and put Morocco on course to make history.

But star winger Ziyech has endured a tough few years at Chelsea under Potter and previously former boss Thomas Tuchel. His meagre nine appearances this season across all competitions have amounted to just 270 minutes on the pitch – the equivalent of three full matches.

The 29-year-old has struggled to get into a team that is stacked with a plethora of attacking talent. He often finds himself behind the likes of Mason Mount, Kai Havertz, Raheem Sterling and even Christian Pulisic.

Chelsea are widely expected to sell Ziyech in the January transfer window and his World Cup performances are likely to have seen his value soar. However, the Stamford Bridge outfit are very unlikely to get anywhere near the £40million they paid Ajax for his services three years ago.
