New Bel-Air Teaser Shows the One Little Fight That Sees Will Move Out of Philly

We already knew that Bel-Air, a “reimagined vision” of the popular 90s sitcom The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, is coming next month. Now Peacock has shared another teaser for the upcoming series, including a scene that kicks off the events of the series.

The 45-second clip starts off with Jabari Banks’ character Will as we see a closer glimpse about the fight that forced his mother to relocate her son from Philadelphia to live with his affluent aunt in uncle in Bel-Air. It’s a bit of lore that Fresh Prince fans know well: in the intro for the 90s sitcom, Will Smith’s character raps about how he ended up living in the Golden State, which was that he got into a fight with some gang members after playing basketball.

But the upcoming reboot is taking a more dramatic approach and showing the “one little fight” that shows the main character moving out of Philly. As shown with the official trailer released earlier this month, it also reinforces that the upcoming reboot will be less of a sitcom and more of a dramatic recreation inspired by the 90s original.

Bel-Air premieres on February 13 exclusively on Peacock.
