New Tales From The Borderlands Release Date Leaked By Amazon

New Tales from the Borderlands will be released on October 21 as per updated listings on Amazon.

New Tales from the Borderlands doesn’t have a trailer yet, but it does now have a release date. As noticed by Twitter users, Amazon leaked the release date, box art and confirmed the official title through a premature store listing. Gearbox Interactive has yet to confirm the veracity of this leak and the Amazon link has since been deleted.

The description that appeared on the listing prior to its deletion shed more details on the premise of the upcoming game. Players will “decide the fates of altruistic scientist Anu, her ambitious ‘streetwise’ brother Octavio, and the fierce frogurt-slinging Fran” (via IGN). New Tales from the Borderlands will feature a new cast with some returning faces. The game will be a five-parter, with the whole thing costing $50 on all platforms, a significant hike from the $25 of its predecessor.

DUALSHOCKERS VIDEO OF THE DAY

Gearbox originally announced a then-untitled sequel to Tales from the Borderlands back in April, with very little emerging about the game ever since. It would appear that Amazon may now have accidentally forced the hand of the publisher.

The original was released back in 2014 by the now-defunct Telltale Games during a development spree that saw the studio license several IPs. These included Borderlands, Batman, Minecraft and more.

Tales from the Borderlands featured two protagonists, Rhys and Fiona. The former will be familiar to Borderlands 3 players as he plays a significant part in that game’s plot. So far, Fiona has only appeared in Tales. As the game’s description promises returning faces, the two protagonists of its predecessor seem a natural choice.

2022 has proved a bountiful year for Borderlands fans. Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands was released back in March to positive reception. Dean James described it as a “unique concoction of the classic Borderlands formula mixed with a Dungeons & Dragons experience all in one package” in his positive review of the title.

Now, Borderlands fans will have something else to look forward to with the potential October 21 release of New Tales from The Borderlands.
