United are rightly particularly hesitant to allow their number 14 to leave for Tottenham Hotspur and West Ham, despite interest from the capital.
Both clubs are fighting the Red Devils for a top-four place in the Premier League this season, so it would make little sense to strengthen them with an international-level player.
All signs currently point towards Lingard running down his contract at Old Trafford rather than elsewhere.
And his current status as an outgoing player likely means opportunities will continue to be far and few over the next few months.
