Former Conservative Chancellor Nigel Lawson died at the age of 91 on Monday and tributes poured in for the politician.
His daughter Nigella Lawson has since taken to social media and opened up about her dad’s death as she explained taking a short break.
Writing on Twitter, the chef penned: “Thank you for all your kind messages. And I’ll be back on here properly tomorrow.”
Nigella was soon inundated with messages as social media users offered their condolence.
Russell and Patrick wrote: “Sending our condolences to you Nigella.”

Rudi commented: “Your father is a legend.”
Sue penned: “Don’t rush yourself – give yourself enough time to process it all. Wrap yourself in the good memories & cosset yourself however you choose about the not so good. Take care of yourself first – we can all wait.”
Kenny added: “Sending you our deepest condolences Nigella. Our thoughts our with you and your family.”
Nigel held several cabinet posts under Margaret Thatcher in the 1980s and he was seen as one of the most consequential of all post-war UK chancellors.
Before his Cabinet career, Lord Lawson edited The Spectator for four years from 1966 to 1970.
From May 1979 until 1981, Lord Lawson served as the Financial Secretary to the Treasury.
He was the Tory MP for Blaby in Leicestershire from 1974 to 1992, and entered the Lords the same year.
He contributed five decades to public service.
Prime Minister Rishi Sunak called him an “inspiration to me and many others”.
He noted that “One of the first things I did as Chancellor was hang a picture of Nigel Lawson above my desk.”
Former Prime Minister Boris Johnson said: “Nigel Lawson was a fearless and original flame of free market Conservatism.
“He was a tax-cutter and simplifier who helped transform the economic landscape and helped millions of British people achieve their dreams. He was a prophet of Brexit and a lover of continental Europe. He was a giant. My thoughts and prayers are with his family.”
Current Chancellor Jeremy Hunt said, “Nigel Lawson was a rarity amongst politicians, someone who transformed our thinking as well as transforming our economy”.
Lord Lawson is survived by six children, including Nigella Lawson, a food writer and celebrity cook.
