The rumors regarding Nikon working on first mirror-less camera was confirmed after the teaser was released and details of its two models were shared by camera blog site Nikon Rumors.
To keep pace with the modern time the camera maker finally came with its first mirrorless full-frame camera which would have a compact body and the teaser video also reveals that the new mirrorless mount would be 55mm. The glowing ring has been highlighted at the mount of the camera spotted in the videos could be Nikon’s new Z-mount for new mirror-less cameras.
The launched expected to be July 23 was missed as it could be launched around Photokina at the end of September or before the event. The pricing would be tricky as to beat the competition the model with 48 megapixel model with a kit lens would be priced around $4,000 and for the other model 25 megapixel would be priced around $2,400 and additional lens options to choose from might come with options of standard 24-70 mm f/4 zoom lens and fixed 35 mm and 50 mm.
The two models are with different sensors one with a 24-25 megapixel BSI sensor and another one would be with 45 or 48 megapixels. It would also own a 3.6 megapixel (electronic Viewfinder) EVF for framing shots and an in-body 5-axis image stabilization and an advanced AF system with over 400 AF points. The camera would be capable of capturing 4K videos.
These models by Nikon are aimed to compete with Sony A9 or A7 III which are mirrorless cameras which initially struggled due to a fewer number of lenses but it soon provided a range to cater to the demands.
