Smartphone manufacturers usually roll out major Android updates for newer and more premium phones before releasing them for their predecessors. However, OnePlus has a different idea for its Nord lineup. A few weeks ago, the Chinese smartphone maker released the Android 12 update for the original Nord handset. Now, the company has started rolling out the latest Android update for its successor, the OnePlus Nord 2 smartphone. The device will be receiving the stable version of the Android 12 OS after going through a few open betas. The first beta version was rolled out about a month ago and the company took a couple of weeks to release the stable version. OnePlus has finally started releasing the Android 12 update for the Nord 2 handset almost over half a year after Google initially released it.
OnePlus Nord 2 Android 12 update availability
OnePlus has started rolling out the stable version of the latest Android 12 OS with Nord 2 handsets in India. The new update is being rolled out in segments which means that a small number of users will be getting the update notification over the next few days. The company will begin to roll out this update gradually, once no major bug is detected in the new version.
Users who are aware or can sideload an OTA package can download the Full OTA zip to get the latest version of Android. Others need to wait for the update notification. OnePlus hasn’t officially shared any information about the stable update on its forums and the news about the release has been shared by Nord 2 owners who have already received it, reports GSMAreana.
