It added that Britons in North Wales and North Norwich may also be able to see the lights which, according to AuroraWatch, will be strongest around midnight.

Although the aurora borealis has been spotted as far south as Cornwall and Kent in the past, it tends to be strongest in the North.

Even when aurora borealis is predicted, like tonight, the conditions have to be right for Britons to be able to glimpse them from their back gardens.
