In a new interview with Prima Magazine, the maths whizz, 61, spoke candidly about why she’s chosen to remain single, explaining that she enjoys the independence that it brings.

Speaking about the pressure to be in a relationship, Carol told how her life “is not lacking love” as she has her two children, daughter Katie and son Cameron.

The star went on to admit that she didn’t think that being in a relationship was in the cards for her.

Carol said: “My generation was taught that we should be in a partnership, but it’s rubbish.

“Not everyone is suited to being in a couple and if I’m being really honest, I think that’s true for me.”
