SEIBOLD COACHING RETURN ON CARDS
Former Rabbitohs and Broncos coach Anthony Seibold could be making a return to rugby league – with English club Hull KR.
Currently a member of Eddie Jones’ England rugby union coaching team, Seibold is on a list of possible coaches for the Super League club.
Fellow Aussie Tony Smith is coming off contract at the end of the season and Hull KR officials are considering a change of direction, with Seibold high on their wish list.
The team is currently in seventh spot on the 12-team ladder with four wins and four losses.
Seibold has had a roller coaster ride in his brief time in the NRL. He was named Dally M coach of the year in his debut season in 2018 but then switched to Brisbane, where things went pear-shaped and his contract was terminated mid-way through his second season.

Seibold has done good work with Jones and the England rugby team but may be tempted to make a return to league.
KNIGHTS FACING PONGA CONUNDRUM
So exactly what is the tension between ‘Team Ponga’ and the Knights that is holding up negotiations with their star fullback?
There are those at Newcastle who aren’t comfortable with the influence of Kalyn’s dad Andre at the club.
Wide World of Sports revealed months ago that the Knights created a special job for Andre – who also happens to manage his son – with their women’s team.
On top of that, Andre’s wife has also worked at the club in the merchandise store. When Ponga signed his last deal at the Knights, Andre hand-picked the journalists he wanted involved in the announcement – a move that didn’t go down well.
All in all, some senior figures at the club believe the father of a player has way too much say in the way the club is run – and it could cost them the services of their brilliant fullback.
ROOSTERS MISS OUT ON GUN ALL BLACK
The Roosters have failed in a sneaky bid to sign superstar All Black utility back Jordie Barrett.
Barrett has played 36 games for his country, scoring over 200 points, and is one of the best-known players in the All Black squad.
The 24-year-old recently re-signed with the Hurricanes franchise, but admitted on Kiwi radio last week that the Roosters had a crack at him – and he was tempted to make the switch before deciding to stay loyal to rugby union.
DRAGONS SET TO LOSE YOUNG GUN
The Dragons are set to lose one of their best junior talents to the NRL’s new franchise, the Dolphins.
Centre Jack Bostock is believed to have agreed to terms with the Dolphins on a lucrative three-year deal – good money for a kid from SG Ball.
But Dolphins recruitment guru Peter O’Sullivan is a good judge of rising talent and believes Bostock will be worth the money.
The 19-year-old scored three tries in the Steelers’ SG Ball team’s opening game of the season and has looked a real find this season.
