Legends Dilip Kumar and Lata Mangeshkar were not mentioned at the 94th Academy Awards‘ In Memoriam section, leaving fans baffled.
Oscar’s Memoriam section paid a tribute to beloved and significant members of the global film industry who are no longer with us. The segment, however, failed to honour the work and memory of two iconic Indian legends who passed away recently; actor Dilip Kumar and singer Lata Mangeshkar.
Dilip Kumar passed away on July 7, 2021. Lata Mangeshkar died on February 6, 2022. Both personalities had significantly contributed to Indian cinema by giving us timeless works of film and music for more than seven decades. It’s disheartening that at the Oscars they did not pay tribute to two legends.
