The family staunchly fought against selling the property, claiming they wanted to turn it into a museum for Swayze.
But Nieme sold the property and began to sell off some of Swayze’s memorabilia on eBay, including his iconic leather jacket from Dirty Dancing.
It was reported that Swayze’s niece pleaded with his widow, saying she was selling the last family memories of the man.
While tensions in the family seemed to cool for a while, in the 2019 documentary on the star’s life, I Am Patrick Swayze, Nieme claimed Swayze’s mother had been abusive towards him as a child.
In the documentary, Nieme notes Patsy “could be very violent” and had high-expectations for her son.
