pixel: Google Pixel 6a tipped to launch soon in India

Pixel 6a, the next iteration of Google’s affordable phone series, is expected to drop later this week, on May 11 at I/O 2022. However, there is no clue whether the smartphone will come to India or not, until now. As per notable tipster Mukul Sharma, a new Google Pixel smartphone is currently under private testing in India, and it could be the upcoming Pixel 6a.
The tipster is not completely sure of the model currently being tested in India. However, considering the next big Google event is around the corner, it is very likely that the smartphone might be none other than the Pixel 6a. But we suggest taking this with a grain of salt until Google announces something, as there has been no other mention of Pixel 6a coming to India.
The Pixel 6a is said to feature a 6.2-inch FHD+ OLED panel with a refresh rate of 90Hz. Further, it might come with an in-display fingerprint sensor, a first for the Pixel a-series smartphone, in addition to face recognition. It is expected to don a dual-tone design with a camera visor similar to the two Pixel 6 smartphones.
Google’s first-gen in-house Tensor chip, found on the Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro, is also rumoured to power the upcoming Pixel 6a. Under the hood, the chipset would be paired with at least 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. A 4500mAH battery supporting 20W+ fast charging might back up the smartphone. It is said to run Android 12 out of the box.
There is no word on Pixel 6a’s camera setup, but as per rumours, it might come with a triple camera array on the back and a front camera housed inside the centred punch-hole cutout.
