pixel: Pixel’s June feature drop brings some new features and bug fixes

0

Google has started rolling out the June 2022 software update to the Pixel smartphones. The update comes a month after being made available on Google’s QPR (Quarterly Platform Release) beta channel. It does not bring any major new features but includes a few new small features with fixes for more than a dozen bugs.
What Pixel models are supported?
The June software update is rolling out to Pixel 4 and later models in a phased manner, so it would take some time for the update to reach everyone. Eligible Pixel smartphone users can check for the OTA update through system settings. They can also download the software build and install it manually.
The June 2022 software update lets users add a shortcut for vaccination cards on their home screen. The feature is available in the US, Australia and Canada. Further, it adds a new Pocket Operator app, which will allow users to make fun clips. The app is only supported by Pixel 5 and newer smartphones.
Pixel June software update brings new features to the “At a glance” widget
With Pixel 6, Google introduced a new “At a glance” widget. Well, now the June feature drop adds some new features to it. You can get a live feed from your Nest Doorbell; it will send you a reminder if you have left your flashlight turned on, and you will also get air-quality alerts in the widget itself, but it is only limited to India, Australia and the US.
Google Message app for Pixel gets support for more chat translation languages
The June update for Pixels also brings the Conversation Mode out of beta. Further, the feature drop brings some updates to the Real Tone filter. And the chat translations in the Message app will now also be available in Traditional Chinese, Dutch, Korean, Thai, and Turkish.
The update comes with a total of 23 bug fixes, including fixes for the slow fingerprint sensor, battery life and Bluetooth stability. Further, it bumps the security patch to June 2022.
