Producer and director Prakash Jha is one of our most prolific filmmakers, best known for his work on titles like Apaharan and Raajneeti. After making award-winning documentaries, he forayed into the digital space with his web series Aashram, starring Bobby Deol. While fans await the third instalment of the show, Jha has now shared his views on Indian actors.

At a recent discussion that took place at Goafest 2022, Prakash Jha opened up about being “disgusted” with Indian actors. He then went on to draw a comparison between Hollywood and Bollywood. He said, “I was disgusted with the actors working here in India. They don’t know what acting is about. To date, no actor has asked me questions about shoot days, shoot timings, locations, action sequences, and more. And that’s the difference between Hollywood actors and Bollywood ones. The actors there attend workshops and keep on improving their art.”

He further revealed that he used to attend acting workshops in different parts of the world, including Vienna, London, and New York. He added, “I would quietly go and enrol myself as a student. And that’s how I understood an actor’s language. I have performed Shakespeare and other plays in classes, which gave me a lot of confidence.”
