Primark offers £45 designer face cream dupe for just £4.50 – ‘exactly the same’

A regular skincare routine is essential for maintaining healthy skin as we age, however, the cost of products can soon begin to add up, especially if you like designer brands. However, Scot McGlynn, a beauty and skincare influencer and the hot and creator of Celebrity Skin Talk and Acne Uncovered, said he was “shocked” after discovering an impressive dupe from Primark.

Scott tested out Primark’s PS Prep and Perfect Vitamin Enriched Moisturising Primer which is on sale for just £4.50. According to the skincare expert, the moisturising primer is a “dupe” of the Bobbi Brown Vitamin Enriched Face Base which retails for £48.50.

In a video shared on his Instagram page, Scott tried out both creams, using one on each side of his face to compare.

He said: “This is going to be very interesting. We have the Bobbi Brown Face Base. You can see how empty this is, I’ve been using it a lot.

“I’m going to apply it to this side of the face. £41 that cost. Go into Primark. £4.50, looks exactly the same. Can’t tell the difference.”

Vicki Anne Johnson added: “I finally managed to grab a Primark one over the weekend and omg I absolutely love it. Top marks Primark.” [SIC]

Primark’s PS Prep and Perfect Vitamin Enriched Moisturising Primer is made with oat oil, shea butter, vitamin E, vitamin and niacinamide.

The ingredients are not too dissimilar to those included in Bobbi Brown’s version which contains a blend of Vitamins B, C, and E, Shea Butter and Hyaluronic Acid.

Posting to Instagram earlier this year, Primark’s beauty page described it as “the Moisturising Primer you need in your makeup routine.”

Night cream skincare dupe

As well as the moisturising primer, Scott has also recently revealed a night cream dupe which could save shoppers £60.

He told Express.co.uk: “I have recently been testing the Lidl Cein cream RRP £1.49 and I’m not disappointed, I can really feel the hydration, and my skin is left feeling fresh and radiant after using it.

“I did a test using this cream against a £69.00 cream and I found that it does the same job.

“In fact, the Lidl cream went further and my skin felt more moisturised.”

He added: “Remember the more expensive products aren’t always the best – that is what I find all the time.”
