Princess Beatrice and Kate wear almost same coat – but one is not allowed to ‘take it off’
Princess Beatrice, 34, met film director Ann Hu on the red carpet of the Confetti premiere. The royal was all smiles as she posed for the cameras wearing a long grey coat and a pair of stylish black boots.
To attend the film premiere, Princess Beatrice opted for a relatively casual look consisting of a grey coat with ruffle detail on the pockets and a black midi dress.
The royal combined the outfit with a pair of black high-heel studded boots and a cute box bag.
Beatrice kept her hair loose, opted for a natural make-up look and didn’t wear any visible jewellery.
The outfit reminded fans of the look Kate, Princess of Wales, wore to meet Mary, Crown Princess of Denmark, in February.

Kate wore a Catherine Walker grey coat, black Gianvito Rossi pumps and a very similar mini box handbag.
The only difference was that the Princess of Wales’ coat had black lapels. The handbag Kate donned back then was the Mulberry Amberley Bag which retailed for £375.
The Princess often wears Catherine Walker, a British brand also beloved by Diana, Princess of Wales.
Said Cyrus, head of design at Catherine Walker, said that high-profile women come to the brand “for garments that are suitable for the role they are playing and match up to the power they have”.

Royals often wear coats as the garment mimics a dress and looks sharp for official engagements.
However, according to Daena Borrowman, marketing manager at Jewellery Box, if royals choose to don a coat for an event, they can no longer take it off.
Daena said “royal women are expected to keep their coats on at social events”. This is because “disrobing in public is perceived as distasteful according to royal protocol,” the expert explained.
Therefore, royals are not allowed “to take off their coats or jackets” in public, ever.
However, the strict style rules only apply to senior members of the Royal Family.
Princess Beatrice, who is not a senior royal, may be able to take off her coat while indoors and especially today, as she wasn’t attending an official royal engagement.
The senior royals are the members who carry out royal duties full-time on behalf of King Charles III.
Currently, senior members of the Royal Family include King Charles III, Camilla, Queen Consort, William, Prince of Wales, Catherine, Princess of Wales, Anne, Princess Royal, Prince Edward, Earl of Wessex and Forfar, and Sophie, Countess of Wessex and Forfar.
