Kroos, Casemiro, and Modric could play forever

They may not have been able to get on the ball as much as they would like, but Toni Kroos, Luka Modric, and Casemiro were sturdy pillars to Real Madrid’s defensive set up.

While PSG dominated the possession, the legendary midfield trio formed a cage around Messi and smothered him every time he got the ball.

While the likes of Mbappe, Mendes, and Di Maria seemed to bypass the Real full-backs at every attempt, Casemiro, Kroos, and Modric were always in the penalty area ready to block or clear the resulting cross.

At a combined age of 97-years-old, most clubs would have their eye on a new era of midfielders.

But while the infamous midfield trio are still expertly marshalling the midfield, Ancelotti may very well be tempted to keep the serial winners in his set-up.
