Queen Camilla looks ‘absolutely magnificent’ in ‘chic’ black cape coat for Yorkshire visit

For the visit to the Talbot Yard food court in Yorkshire, the Queen Consort recycled her dark navy suit which she combined with a stylish black cape and a scarf in lighter shades of blue underneath.

Camilla wore the same two-piece suit earlier this year to visit a centre for victims of domestic violence in Battersea, southwest London.

This time, she accessorised the elegant navy striped outfit with a pair of black gloves, black knee-high boots and a black handbag.

The Queen’s black cape is from designer Fiona Clare and she has been seen donning the trendy jacket on many occasions in the last few years.

Stylist and fashion expert Melita Latham commented on the cape saying: “This is not the first time and nor it will be the last for this simple, elegant cape to catch our attention. Cosy and warm this is definitely the choice for this season.

“It’s flattering and is less restrictive than a coat so the perfect choice when out on royal visits,” she said. “Her cape allows her to layer up on these chilly days so her choice was a smart one. It’s chic and can be matched with any outfit.

“Has Camilla elevated the cape this season? I think so, I would quite happily pair her cape up with a simple pair of jeans and jumper. A great choice from Camilla.”

For jewellery, the Queen Consort donned one of her favourite pearl earrings, the same pair she chose for the official Coronation portrait.

Royal fans loved Camilla’s outfit in Yorkshire with social media user @from.birkhall.with.love saying: “Her Majesty looking absolutely magnificent in Yorkshire today.”

Later today, King Charles will meet local charitable organisations and representatives from the Prince’s Countryside Fund’s Farm for the Future programme.

The royal couple will visit York later this week where the King will carry out his first Royal Maundy service.

Queen Camilla chose blue today, one of her favourite colours, and one that according to colour psychology is used to communicate trust.

The monarch also wore the shade for the Coronation portrait, and some experts claimed she may have deliberately chosen royal blue for a key reason.

Behavioural colour psychologist and author of The Little Book of Color, Karen Haller, explained: “When it comes to colour psychology darker blues communicates you are in a position of authority, trustworthy, reliable and can be depended on.

“You have a sense of duty and take that seriously with committed focus,” she told MyLondon and fashion expert Samantha Harman added that Camilla “loves wearing blue”.

She said: “Blue brings out the colour of her eyes” and explained: “Blue is a calming colour, and in colour psychology, it signals you’re ‘in safe hands’.”
