Realme GT Neo 5 teased to support 240W charging: Launch date, expected specifications and more

Realme is gearing up to unveil its next affordable flagship phone in China. The company is expected to launch the Realme GT Neo 5 smartphone on January 5. The handset is also set to introduce 240W charging technology.
Realme shared a post on its official Weibo handle announcing that the company will launch the smartphone at an event scheduled on January 5 at 2:30 pm local time (12 pm IST). However, the company hasn’t explicitly mentioned that the smartphone in question is the Realme GT Neo 5.
It is to be noted that Realme GT Neo 3 also saw a variant with support for 150W UltraDart Charging.

Realme GT Neo 5 expected specifications
Realme GT Neo 5 is teased to come equipped with the Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 chipset. It is likely to come with a Sony IMX890 primary camera with OIS support. The device can be seen to have two camera rings on the back. It appears that the one on top has a single camera, while the second one sports two camera sensors.
Previous reports have suggested that the Realme GT Neo 5 could sport a 6.7-inch 144Hz OLED display that might offer 1.5K screen resolution. The smartphone will be powered by Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset that might be paired with 6GB of LPDDR5 RAM. It could feature an in-display fingerprint sensor and might run the Android 13 operating system topped with realme UI 4.0.
For the optics department, the Realme GT Neo 5 will come equipped with a triple rear camera consisting of a Sony IMX890 primary sensor with OIS. It could house a 16MP front-facing camera for selfies and video calls.
As per the rumours, the Realme GT Neo 5 will be made available with two battery variants. The smartphone with the 4,600mAh battery unit is likely to support 240W of fast charging, while the one with the 5,000mAh battery might come with support for 150W fast charging.
