The Realme Q5 series is set to be unveiled in China on April 20 as the company has confirmed the dates with a post on Weibo. According to a GSMArena report, Realme has also announced that the smartphones in the upcoming lineup will support 80W SuperDart charging in the post mentioning the domestic market launch date. However, the company hasn’t confirmed the number of smartphones to be released under this series and it is not official whether the vanilla Q5 smartphone or the Pro variant will support 80W fast charging.
The fast charging support to be included in the upcoming smartphone claims to fully charge the 5000mAh battery unit in just 30 minutes. However, it is surprising to see 80W fast charging tech in the Realme Q5 series as it is a fairly new standard and is associated with premium devices like — the Oppo Find X5 series and the OnePlus 10 Pro. The Realme Q5 is supposed to be a budget-friendly offering.
The report also suggests that the post shared by Realme also includes an image of the smartphone. As per the shared post, the smartphone will pack a punch-hole display. The USB port is likely to be at the bottom of the phone which will also include — a SIM card slot, microphone and speaker will be placed.
The report also mentioned that the smartphone is expected to have a power button on its right-side frame and might not include a fingerprint reader. The phone is rumoured to feature an AMOLED display and an in-display fingerprint reader.
Realme Q5 expected specifications
According to the TENAA certification website, the handset is likely to have a flat-edged design and is expected to have a rectangular camera module that will house a dual-camera setup. The smartphone may come powered by a Snapdragon 870 processor backed with up to 12GB RAM and 512GB of internal storage.
However, the rumoured pro variant of Realme Q5 may come with a triple rear camera setup. The vanilla Realme Q5 is likely to have a 13MP primary camera and a 2MP camera, while the Pro version may come with a 64MP primary camera, 8MP ultra-wide lens and a 2MP macro shooter. The Pro model can also have a smaller 4880mAh battery unit and may come with increased thickness and weight compared to the base model.
