Christian Horner has admitted it is unlikely Max Verstappen can win all six of the final races this season. The Red Bull team boss stressed there was a “huge variance” in circuits and predicted Singapore could be tough.

Horner said: “That’s a massive ask and [there is] some huge variance of circuits. Singapore compared to Monza, it’s got the most corners on the calendar. It’s bumpy, it’s a street track so it’s a much different challenge.

“We are in a great position in the championship. But we will attack every race and do the best we can, then the points will take care of themselves.” Verstappen has already won 11 races this season as he closes in on his second crown and an F1 record.

The Dutchman looks set to surpass Sebastian Vettel and Michael Schumacher’s 13 victories in a single season with races to spare. Verstappen can clinch the title next time out at Singapore if his main rivals struggle.

Reports from Italy suggest Ferrari could also bounce back in Singapore with a new upgrade in the pipeline. It is believed an updated floor and wings will be installed for the next race with a further upgrade set for Mexico.

Horner suggested Ferrari would be challenging in Singapore moments after clinching victory at the Italian Grand Prix. He commented: “Singapore is completely different challenge to here [Monza].

“For sure Ferrari [are] gonna be strong there. We got the strategy right today but ultimately, we had a fast car and Max is just on fire at the moment.”
