“For us, there are some parts that are not legal.”

Red Bull has since issued a short statement denying the comments were made.

“Please note, Christian has not spoken with any media or made any comments about the Mercedes car,” it read.

On the opening day of official F1 pre-season testing in Bahrain, the Silver Arrows unveiled a new-look W13, highlighting one major difference in the bodywork since the Barcelona shakedown: no sidepods.

In what could be a revolutionary idea, where the sidepods usually bulge out on an F1 car, the W13’s completely collapse to aid aerodynamics.

Red Bull and McLaren and rumoured to showcase their upgrades over the coming day.
