Red Dead Redemption 2 is one of the best games out there, when considered according to its campaign and open world system, but the online mode is certainly a disappointment. Rockstar has done wonders in the online mode for GTA V, a game that released in 2013, which still has a massive player base to date, but somehow they have fallen short in delivering the same for their other gigantic franchise.
The main thing that fans and players have been asking for in Red Dead Redemption 2 Online is more content, content and content. The likes of GTA has races, heists, special missions, and so much more, and RDR 2 seems like an empty desert when compared to it. Players have just been anticipating a massive update by Rockstar which will change the state of how things work in RDR 2 online.
The players’ hopes and prayers came through, but not in the way you would expect it too. Rockstar just released a new update for RDR 2 Online and it is the 1.27 patch. This comes as a major disappointment to the players as the patch notes for this update consists of only one detail and that is ‘Updates to improve the security of Red Dead Online’. After so much criticism and complaining from fans, this is all they could come up with.
Another detail that has gained more criticism from fans is that RDR 2 Online update 1.27 is only available for PC users, and the rest of the platforms such as PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, Stadia and more have just been left out. The new update has just arrived for Steam and Rockstar Games Launcher for PC users.
One thing that has caught the attention of the players is the size of the new update. RDR 2 Online Patch 1.27 comes in at 2.8GB for Steam and 4.11GB for Rockstar Games Launchers. Which begs the question of why such a massive update is required just for improving the security of the online more of RDR2. Many believe that the update has more hidden changes that haven’t been revealed by Rockstar yet. Players can just hope that the developers eventually release some new content for RDR2 online mode in the next update.
