NEW DELHI: The Reliance laptop, likely to be called the JioBook is back in news. Earlier, the laptop appeared on the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) certification website and now a leak about the device has surfaced online. The yet-to-launch laptop from Reliance Jio was recently mentioned in a hardware certification document.
The document spotted online reveals that the upcoming laptop comes with ARM version of Windows 10. The document also mentions the existence of Emdoor Digital Technology. It is a Shenzhen-based company, which specialises in such hardware. This means that Reliance Jio might consider purchasing the product from the Chinese vendor and later sell it with its own branding.
Reliance JioBook likely specs
Recently, the upcoming Reliance Jio laptop was also spotted on the benchmarking website — Geekbench. The listing on the website revealed that it may come in three variants. As per the listing, the JioBook may be powered by MediaTek MT8788 chipset and run Android 11 operating system.
The device is expected to come with an HD display with 1366×768 pixel resolution. There are no details about the screen size yet. The online listing suggests the JioBook laptop may pack 2GB RAM.
JioBook is sure to come preloaded with the company’s own apps such as JioStore, JioMeet and JioPages. Other speculated apps include support for Microsoft Edge, Microsoft Office and more. Connectivity-wise, the laptop may support mini HDMI for video output, support for WiFi over 2.4 and 5GHz frequencies and Bluetooth.
