Resident Evil 4 remake demo has a secret weapon

Be ready to drop everything for it

The Resident Evil 4 remake demo has been out for less than a week, and players are still discovering secrets in it. A new one that’s going around now has a method for getting another weapon option in the TMP, and it can carry through your playthroughs too.

As spotted by various players and shared around (thanks, Eurogamer), Leon can get the TMP in the Resident Evil 4 demo. The trick is, you’ll need to take some risks to make it happen.

How to get the TMP in the Resident Evil 4 demo

To grab the TMP for yourself, just start the demo up like normal. Head to the lodge, through all the cutscenes and past the first enemy encounter. Then, when you’re going to take the stairs up and out, open your case. Drop everything.

You’ll need to discard everything in your inventory before the village, and not pick up anything on the way there. Keep the case empty and, once at the village, scramble for the back-left corner. Normally, the well back here is closed off, but it should be open now.

Head down the ladder and open the chest inside for the TMP, and break the nearby barrels for some ammo. Congratulations, you now have the TMP!

We tested this for ourselves, and not only does it work, but it’s fairly easy to accomplish so long as you beeline straight for the well. Now, doing so might have placed you in a precarious position. But even if you die here, the TMP will persist on through future playthroughs.

I also tested this out, booting up a new playthrough after my run ended. Sure enough, the TMP was right there in my case.

Alongside the secret Mad Chainsaw Mode, it seems there’s a fair bit to do and discover in the Resident Evil 4 remake demo. I personally love when demos have so many secrets to uncover, so it’s rad to see Capcom doing all this with the RE4 remake.

Resident Evil 4 springs back to life on PlayStation 4, PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC on March 24.
