A couple of new Resident Evil 4 remake mods that are now available for download improve the game’s visuals by addressing some of the issues found in the vanilla game, such as shadows that are way too dark and more.

The first of these mods are the Clarity HDR Filters which, as the name implies, improve clarity but can only be used with NVIDIA GPUs and GeForce Experience. A couple of comparison screenshots were also shared, and you can check them out below.

The second new Resident Evil 4 remake mod is the Visual Overhaul ReShade preset, which features custom ambient occlusion and global illumination shaders, improved bloom, sharpening, and color and contrast correction. As showcased in some comparison screenshots, the preset improves some of the game’s visual elements considerably, such as shadows, lighting, and more.

Regarding visuals, the Resident Evil 4 remake was far from being perfect when it launched last week on PlayStation 5, as the game came with an issue that caused flickering lights in the lower part of the screen. This issue has been fixed over the weekend with an update. While future fixes are yet to be detailed, the Japanese publisher confirmed it is already at work on additional content, such as the Mercenaries Mode, which will be added to the game for free on all formats next week, on April 7th.

The Resident Evil 4 remake is now available on PC, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X, and Xbox Series S worldwide. You can learn more about the remake of one of the best entries in the survival-horror series by CAPCOM by checking out Nathan’s review, where he highlighted how CAPCOM played it quite safe, even with the many changes over the original featured in the remake.
