Revamped version of Skype Web launched with HD Video Calling and a brand new Notification Panel

Just after Google has revamped its apps with new materialistic design, Microsoft is also revamping its apps with new features and abilities. Today, Microsoft has revamped its Skype calling service on the Web revealing HD video calling feature and a redesigned notification panel. Also, Microsoft has tweaked the media gallery design and added Call Recording functionality and a few more things in this update.

All of these updates will reflect only on the Web version of Skype for desktop users running on Windows 10 or Mac OSX10.12 or higher. They must have the latest version of Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge to enjoy these features. The major change of this update is the addition of HD-video calling features which will help many Skype users to make video calling at a better quality than ever. Also, the call recording feature is also enabled which let the users to record some important calls for further proofs.

Apart from this, Microsoft has tweaked the notification panel which let you to easily go through the messages where you have been mentioned or someone quoted you just by a single click. Moreover, the company also placed a search bar at the top of the screen from where one can search for the messages or media he may be looking for.

While announcing these features, Microsoft has added this into its blog, “In addition, today we are releasing the updated MSI distributable for Skype (version 8) for Windows desktop, which replaces the existing MSI distributable of Skype (version 7) for Windows desktop. If you are an IT administrator, simply download the new MSI file to start distributing the latest version of Skype to your organization via the distribution software of your choice.”
