The AFL issued a “please explain” and received a letter of apology after a member of Richmond’s AFLW team played in last week’s semi-finals with offensive language on her shoulder strapping.

Ahead of Richmond’s clash with North Melbourne, Jess Hosking had written on her shoulder tape “kill bitches”.

“Hosking was extremely remorseful and deeply disappointed in her actions,” read an AFL statement provided to Wide World of Sports.

The semi-finals saw North Melbourne defeat Richmond by 36 points and Adelaide beat Collingwood by 12 points.

Brisbane and Adelaide will square off in one preliminary final, before Melbourne and North Melbourne meet in the other.
