After the release of Sooryavanshi, Rohit Shetty is gearing up for the release of his next film. Titled Cirkus, the film starring Ranveer Singh is another comedy from the filmmaker. The film also features Jacqueline Fernandez, Pooja Hegde, Sanjay Mishra and more. Now, the director has opened up about the project.
In a recent interview with a leading portal, Rohit Shetty talked about comparisons between Cirkus and Shakespeare’s famous play The Comedy of Errors. He said, “There have been many versions of The Comedy of Errors. In Bengali cinema, it was made as a black and white film, then Do Dooni Chaar with Kishore Kumar. So, it has changed a lot over the years.”
Adding that his next film will be a lighthearted comedy, he drew comparisons to his previous hit films saying, “Our film is a different take. It is a happy, cool and breezy film, much on the lines of Golmaal and All The Best.”
To note, Cirkus is being described as an adaptation of the 1983 film Angoor which was based on Shakespeare’s The Comedy of Errors. In it, Ranveer Singh will be seen essaying a double role.
The film went into production during the pandemic and is set to release this Christmas.
