Reports say that Tina Turner’s son Ronnie was found “outside his home” and “having a hard time breathing”. It is understood that he stopped breathing a few minutes later and CPR attempts were unsuccessful.
Sources added to TMZ that he was pronounced dead at the scene.
The 83-year-old also has two adopted sons, Ike Jr. and Michael, from her former husband Ike Turner’s previous relationship.
Tina and Ike divorced in 1978 after a tumultuous relationship. He died in 2007.
Much like his famous mother and father, Ronnie was musical and starred alongside Tina in the 1993 movie What’s Love Got To Do With It as a member of The Revue.
The biopic was based on the life of the iconic singer.
Tina has not yet spoken publicly since news of Ronnie’s death broke, but Ronnie’s wife Afida took to Instagram to share a heartbreaking tribute.
More tributes have flooded in on social media. A user named Tina Turner Blog penned: “It is with great sadness that we heard this morning of the passing of Ronnie Turner, @tinaturner’s son at the age of 62. I’d like to send my most sincere condolences to Tina, her husband and her niece Jackie. May Ronnie rest in peace.”
Shaun added: “My sincerest condolences to @tinaturner on the loss of her youngest son Ronnie Turner, just four years after losing her first son.”
While Tan said: “Tina Turner’s son Ronnie Turner , dies at age 62. Prayers to the family and friends.”
And Frank lamented: “It is with great sadness to have heard of the passing of Tina’s son Ronnie Turner! Tina also lost her other son Craig four years ago. My thoughts are with Tina, Erwin and family.”
