Following multiple rumors surrounding his arrival in the MCU, Deadpool actor Ryan Reynolds recently brushed off all the theories about playing the character in the upcoming Marvel movie, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.

Ever since Disney acquired 20th Century Fox, fans have waited for the Merc with a Mouth to enter the MCU along with other X-Men characters.

While it seems like Sir Patrick Stewart’s Professor X will make his appearance in the Doctor Strange sequel, rumors about a possible Deadpool appeared out of nowhere after fans “noticed him” in the new poster for the movie.

However, when asked about his potential entry in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Reynolds noted that he’s “really not” in the movie.

The Hollywood star was asked about it in a Variety interview during the recent press tour for his upcoming Netflix movie, The Adam Project, to which he replied:

However, when Ryan was questioned on whether or not he was lying, he did leave some hope for fans of the Merc with a Mouth.

Fans are currently in the dark on whether they will see Deadpool on May 6 when the movie comes out. However, even if he isn’t part of the project, they might not have to wait long as the actor confirmed that Deadpool 3 is “coming along.”

As of right now, Deadpool is part of a long list of rumored cameos for Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, as many believe that he might be part of the Illuminati alongside Reed Richards, Charles Xavier and even Captain Marvel as well.

The recent trailer confirmed some of these characters, but it’s very likely that fans will have to wait some time to see some of the other rumors to became true after all.
