Samsung is actively upgrading its accessory ecosystem for multiple devices including — smartphones, tablets, and wearables. The South Korea-based tech giant recently released new camera-focused accessories for the newly-launched Galaxy S23’s Gadgets Case. According to a report by 9to5Google, the company has now debuted a new wrist strap for its Wear OS-based smartwatches for US customers. These watches include the Galaxy Watch 4 and the Galaxy Watch 5.

The latest Rugged Sport Band band is designed for watches including — the Galaxy Watch 4, Galaxy Watch 4 Classic, Galaxy Watch 5, and Galaxy Watch 5 Pro. The new watch band is priced at $49.99 (nearly Rs 4,000) in the US. The watch band is available in two colours—Black and Grey. It comes in two sizes — S/M and M/L. US customers can already buy the new Rugged Sport Band which is likely to start shipping next week, However, the company hasn’t detailed when this new rugged band will arrive in the Indian market.

Samsung’s Rugged Sport Band for Galaxy Watches is made of stronger fluoroelastomer material which is also available on Google’s Pixel Watch and Apple Watch models. This band is not only water-resistant but also reportedly will be apt for extreme weather conditions. The company claims that this thicker and more flexible band will offer texture to reinforce the band for “long-lasting endurance.”Meanwhile, the watch band has a smoother and softer finish on the inside part.
Rather than leaving the band on the outside, the band also has a buckle clasp at the bottom with a design. This clasp holds the extra band within the loop, Samsung promises that users can perform their daily “active routine with this rugged band.”
The company claims, “with its bold and versatile design, this sporty band will accompany you in your outdoor workouts and daily activities. The added thickness and texture help reinforce the band for long-lasting endurance to match your dynamic lifestyle,” the report adds. This band can be attached to the Galaxy Watch models using traditional spring pin connectors.
