Samsung recently launched its flagship Samsung Galaxy S22 series at the Galaxy Unpacked event. During the event, the Korean giant may have also teased an upcoming feature in Windows 11 operating system. A report by WindowsLatest suggests that Microsoft is working on a new toggle in the taskbar that will allow you to view recently opened apps on your smartphone from the PC screen. The feature was silently teased during the Samsung event. The feature works through the pre-installed Your Phone app.
As per the report, the new ‘recent app’ feature is based on the existing ‘Apps’ feature which allows users to open their Android apps on Windows PC. With the new integration of Your Phone feature in the taskbar, users will not be able to access the three most recently used apps quickly.
According to the screenshot shared by WABetaInfo, the icon for the Your Phone app will appear on the right side of the taskbar. As of now, the taskbar toggle will only be able to manage only three most recently used apps. As per the report, the company is gradually rolling out the new feature to the Windows Insider community on select Samsung devices. Once available, you will be able to try the Your Phone app’s new feature by clicking on ‘^’ on the taskbar on the right bottom corner. The report also suggests that the feature will also be available to Windows 10 PCs in the coming weeks.
Currently, the feature is only available for users of select Samsung devices running Android 9.0 or greater with Link to Windows. Microsoft is also reportedly planning to roll out wallpaper stickers for Windows 11 users. The tech giant is working on new stickers that will provide users a new way to personalise PCs as per their liking. Currently, Windows 11 comes with a wide range of features that users can access to customise the appearance of their PC.
