Michael Schumacher’s nephew David was involved in a scary incident at the Hockenheim DTM which resulted in his and a competitor’s car hurtling towards a crash barrier, before a third car also smashed avoiding the collision. The 20-year-old was taken to the medical centre and fortunately nobody seemed hurt in the three-car crash which resulted in a blaze.
On lap six of the Hockenheim DTM event Schumacher was fighting for position with Thomas Preining when the scary incident happened. The cars collided resulting in both hurtling towards the crash barrier before bouncing back onto the track.
That resulted in Dennis Olsen losing control of his Porsche while frantically trying to avoid the pile-up. The Norwegian’s car also ended up smashing into the crash barriers and setting on fire.
The red flag was immediately waved which resulted in a delay to the race getting underway. The wreckage showed the true extent of the horrific crash which drivers were lucky to escape from and the engine of Olsen was left on the race track.
