The first full-length trailer of Shaakuntalam starring Samantha Ruth Prabhu and Dev Mohan is out. The Gunashekar directorial is a mythological drama based on Kalidasa’s epic play. It also features Aditi Balan, Mohan Babu and Allu Arha, Allu Arjun’s daughter.
The trailer of Shaakuntalam opens with a series of VFX shots teasing the film’s world-building. We’re then introduced to Samantha who looks ethereal as Shaakuntala surrounded by butterflies. We also get a close look at Dev Mohan, a royal avatar as King Dushyanta. It ends with a glimpse of Allu Arha who is making her debut with the film.

The 2:25 minutes-long clip packs in a bunch of visuals, romantic moments and introduces the film’s main conflict.
The film’s official synopsis reads, “The story of Shaakuntalam revolves around the epic love story of Shakuntala and King Dushyant from Mahabharata”
Shaakuntalam is set to release in theatres on February 17.
