Shantanu Maheshwari’s emotional reveal on his parents’ reaction to his debut in Gangubai Kathiawadi
Venturing into the world of cinema that too with the honour of having it to be a Sanjay Leela Bhansali film is indeed a matter of pride. The maestro director’s latest directorial – Gangubai Kathiawadi has taken the world by storm ever since its release on February 25. The movie has Alia Bhatt and Ajay Devgn in the lead. Another actor who caught the eye of a lot of moviegoers is Shantanu Maheshwari. The actor has come a long way and has been on cloud nine about making his Bollywood debut in such a grand film.
Recently, the actor was quoted revealing his parents’ reaction to him being cast opposite Alia Bhatt in this period drama. He shared, “Honestly, I had just told them that I am part of the film but didn’t give many details. So they went to watch the film on Friday, and fir toh dhindora peetne lage (they started blowing the trumpet). They asked everyone around them to watch it. It was never just about me but they too loved the film, and that is what matters the most.”
Furthermore, he added that the prospect of having Sanjay Leela Bhansali direct him in his big Bollywood debut was the main priority in his perspective. All he wanted was to give his 100 per cent in whatever duration of screen time he had and sure he did!
Some time back he put up a post on his social media handle, thanking Sanjay Leela Bhansali profusely for this opportunity.
