Sharon Stone took to Instagram to share an urgent callout for thieves to return her stolen items as she prepares for an Alzheimer’s Charity Auction. The ordeal comes barely two weeks after the 65-year-old hosted her first public exhibit showing off the range of paintings she created throughout the pandemic.

The devastating theft comes after Sharon hosted a women-only art exhibit, showcasing her new creative outlet for the very first time.

While the actress has often shown her three million-strong Instagram following her works-in-progress, March 2 was the first time fans, and potential buyers, could see the art for themselves in person.

She presented nearly two dozen paintings at Gallery 33 on Ocean Boulevard in Santa Monica, only inviting women in honour of Women’s History Month.

The gallery was a resounding success with almost 200 attendees and some of which purchased her colourful pieces for thousands of dollars.

Speaking to TheWrap, Sharon also noted that her typically feminine-themed artworks don’t receive the same reception from men either.

She said: “We showed these paintings to some men, but they didn’t get it. Men don’t get it.”

The actress took up a paintbrush while the world was in the grips of lockdowns, rekindling her love of painting once again.

Sharon was originally taught as a child how to paint by her aunt, who has a master’s degree in painting and English.

The Casino star would spend summers and school breaks with her aunt and grandmother, honing her craft, although she told TheWrap that she isn’t “any sort of spectacular painter”.

A friend had gifted the actress two paint-by-number kits during the pandemic, but she struggled to stay within its creatively-restrictive medium.

She explained: “Halfway through the second one, I was like, I don’t have the bandwidth for this bulls**t.”

Spurred by a renewed passion, Sharon headed to a local art store and quickly stocked up on supplies.

Confined to her home during lockdown, the actress started painting in her bedroom which also held a couch and her bed at first.

As her eagerness to create more pieces grew, the actress got rid of her couch and downgraded to a smaller bed to make space for her artwork, joking that she “literally painted myself in a corner”.

She began offering her paintings to friends as gifts but interest in the actress’ art began to pick up and people started asking to buy them.

This reaction sent Sharon’s determination into full-throttle, and ultimately resulting in her public exhibits.
