Sir David Attenborough to walk through final day on Earth for dinosaurs in new documentary | Celebrity News | Showbiz & TV

The veteran broadcaster, 95, examines fossils from a prehistoric graveyard in the new programme. The graveyard known as Tanis is hidden in the low hills of North Dakota, US. Well-preserved fossilised dinosaurs there date from the end of the Late Cretaceous period. The discoveries could provide the clearest picture yet of how dinosaurs were wiped out by an asteroid.

Sir David said: “Dinosaurs were among nature’s most extraordinary creatures, dominating the planet for over 150 million years.

“Tanis could be a place where the remains can give us an unprecedented window into the lives of the very last dinosaurs, and a minute-by-minute picture of what happened when the asteroid hit.”

Paleontological expertise, fossil scanning and new visual effects techniques will bring the last of this reptilian fauna to life for the show.

Naturalist Sir David is committed to educating people on climate change and the wonders of the natural world.
