Cosmetic ‘tweakments’ and treatments are one way to go for a youthful look, but there are many other options that do not come with a hefty prices. Aesthetics Practitioner and Skincare Expert Amish Patel spoke exclusively to Express.co.uk about the “cheapest” way to look younger – fast.

Amish told Express.co.uk that the “cheapest skincare hack” women can try is entirely free.

He urged readers to “drink more water”, but how does this take years off the face?

“I tell all my clients to keep up their H20 levels to help keep their skin hydrated and plump.”

Upping your water intake will work to combat a sallow, dry and dull complexion.

For those who have had cosmetic treatments, water can be even more important.

Amish said: “If you’ve just had filler injections, drinking water is particularly relevant as hyaluronic acid fillers work by using the water stored in our tissues.

“The more water availability, the better the results and longevity of the treatment.”

Official guidelines recommend that adults drink between six and eight glasses per day.

DON’T MISS

“Using an exfoliator removes dead skin cells and allows your expensive skincare products to work better by allowing them to penetrate the skin’s dermal layer.”

This suggests that your pricey products will do their optimum good if your skin has been thoroughly exfoliated.

Amish continued: “It will also help give your skin a glorious glow.”

However, the expert added a caveat – don’t be too rough with your skin or you might do more harm than good.

He explained: “Exfoliating the skin can help remove dry, flaky skin and clogged pores, but be gentle in your approach.”

And like getting enough water, properly exfoliating the skin can be totally free.

Amish suggested: ‘If you’re looking for a natural, quick DIY exfoliating hack, oatmeal (hydrating) can be mixed with a little water and a tablespoon of honey to create a paste which you can then apply to damp skin with fingertips.

According to the expert, oatmeal is “hydrating” and honey is “a natural antibacterial and a humectant, so it helps maintain moisture in the skin without being oily”.

“Gently massage in a circular motion all over your face and neck, avoiding the delicate eye area, before gently washing off with lukewarm water. Pat dry and apply your usual moisturiser.”

Amish Patel is a Aesthetics Practitioner and Skincare Expert at Intrigue Cosmetic Clinic.
