After four days of thrills and kills during the Battlegrounds Mobile India Series (BGIS) 2021, Skylightz Gaming was crowned the champions after entering the competition as a true underdog.

Following their victory against some of India’s best teams, Skylightz Gaming will now represent the country as the Indian contingent during the upcoming PUBG Mobile Gaming Championship (PMGC) 2021 Grand Finals set to be held between January 21 to January 23.

With their impressive victory over tournament favorites like GodLike Esports, Orange Rock and many more, Skylightz Gaming will now play against the world’s best teams during PMGC 2021 Grand Finals, including the likes of Natus Vincere and Alpha 7 Esports, and the entire country will back Skylightz when the event will begin on Friday.

Skylightz Gaming has had a tough road to reach the Grand Finals of PMGC 2021. BGIS 2021 began with over a thousand teams taking part in the in-game qualifiers.

Over the course of the competition, the goliaths of the BGMI scene, like Team Soul and Orgless Five, faltered during the initial stages, as they couldn’t book their place on the 16-team Grand Finals which began on January 13.

After three days of gruesome battles on BGMI, Skylightz Gaming went into the last day of BGIS 2021 as the third-placed team behind TeamXO and TSM. However, after some brilliant performances, Skylightz Gaming had a six-point cushion over TSM heading into the last match on Erangel.

Even though Skylightz Gaming fell quite early on Erangel, TSM could never find momentum, as they couldn’t muster up a finish better than fourth place to regain the lead and win the prestigious tournament.

BGIS Grand Finals 2021 saw some massive swing in standings during the four-day tournament, however it was Skylightz who stood tall to win the grand prize of ₹50 lakhs.

TSM, who finished second with a three-point deficit, went home with ₹25 lakhs, while TeamXO and GodLike Esports ended up third and fourth, respectively.

BGMI star player Neyoo took home the MVP honours for his impressive play during BGIS 2021. Other than that, his team GodLike Esports also won an extra ₹50,000 as they had the most finishes for a squad during the tournament.

With PMGC 2021 Grand Finals set to begin on Friday, the entire mobile Battle Royale community will hold their breaths together as 16 teams from around the world will face off to see who’s the best, and fans can’t wait for the action to begin.
