Baroness Karren Brady has reacted to the news that Prince Harry will attend his father, King Charles’s Coronation minus wife Meghan Markle in May.

Speaking out in her latest column, The Apprentice star claimed the Duchess of Sussex turning down the invitation is the “right decision”.

The 54-year-old said it would have taken “some gall” for the ex-Suits actress, 41, to be at the event.

Karren put this down to her supposed “sniping” at those involved from the US, where the couple now resides.

In her piece for The Sun on Sunday, she also went on to question the Duke of Sussex’s reasons for being there.

Prince Harry has been outspoken in various television interviews and in his book Spare about his feelings towards his family.

Karren stated: “Meghan would have had some gall to turn up after the amount of damage inflicted by her sniping from across the Pond.

“But Harry has caused his fair share of hurt too – perhaps inflicting the biggest blows in his book Spare.”

The mother-of-two continued: “Given their obvious contempt for his family, I’m rather amazed that Harry is going.

“Perhaps he has realised that blood is thicker than water.”

However, she finished: “Or maybe he knows that to stay relevant, he still needs his family connections.”

Her comments come just four days after Buckingham Palace confirmed Prince Harry would be at Westminster Abbey on May 6, but not Meghan.

It will be the first time he has been seen with the Royal Family since Spare was published.

The date also marks the fourth birthday of Prince Harry and Meghan’s son, Prince Archie, who will remain in the US with his mother.

The couple also issued a statement, which read: “The Duke of Sussex will attend the Coronation service at Westminster Abbey on May 6th.

“The Duchess of Sussex will remain in California with Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet.”

Prince Harry’s book shared the depth of his disagreements with some members of the Royal Family, and their supposed lack of support for his spouse.
