Sonic Just Tried to Rob a Bank in Florida and Of Course He Was Fast Enough to Escape

On February 2nd, the local law enforcement of DeLand, Florida were dispatched in response to an attempted bank robbery. In a bizarre series of events, a Florida man entered the bank wearing a Sonic the Hedgehog mask and wielding a large hammer attempted to rob the local bank.

According to eye-witnesses on the scene, the Florida Man entered the Florida Credit Union bank in DeLand, Florida, wearing a Sonic the Hedgehog mask, wielding a hammer, and demanding money from the bank teller behind the till. The man used his hammer to bang on the window separating the criminal from the teller. He continued to demand cash from the employee while banging threateningly times on the window.

Another bank employee at the Florida Credit Union Bank confronted the Sonic bandit and the suspect stopped smashing at the window with his hammer. He then fled the scene on foot before police arrived to apprehend the suspect.

According to a statement by Florida Credit Union Assistant Vice President of Branch Operations, Brian Leatherman claimed no employees or customers were hurt, there was no damage to the building or windows, and no money was stolen during the short attempted armed robbery.

The suspect was last spotted wearing a black hoodie, black pants, carrying a black or grey backpack or duffle bag, and a mask resembling Sonic the Hedgehog. Local law enforcement have not yet caught the suspect and the incident is still under investigation.
