If you are lucky you might have received an email providing the opportunity to test the beta for Sony PS4 firmware update v6.0. Sony claimed not to expect ‘major changes’ from the new updates it’s going to offer after the beta testing.
In the invite email “You will find smaller quality of life and performance fixes, However, we would still love the help from the community to help us test the overall performance and stability”, was mentioned.
The selected ones have to visit settings menu to download it while Sony has encouraged beta testers to play a wide variety of games to test the new software and to provide feedback to the development team.
The company is not coming with something ‘major’ suggesting that it might bring a performance update to strengthen the stability of the system. Another possibility could be major firmware update as of late PS4 has started running sluggishly.
Earlier after Sony came with 5.00 system update it brought welcome changes like new family settings and child safety features, friends list and follower tweaks, messages and setting customization, and other various quality-of-life improvements while the new v6.0 firmware update would remain secret until Sony reveals as the beta testers are asked to keep the secret intact.
A Reddit user revealed that the registration period was from July 19 to 27 and Sony has now started to send out invites for beta testing.
