Sony on Monday has launched its latest flagship device, the Xperia XZ1, in India. The Sony Xperia Z1 was first unveiled at IFA 2017 Berlin alongside the Xperia XZ1 Compact and the Xperia XA1 Plus. The main highlight of the smartphone is its 3D scanning camera and Android 8.0 Oreo operating system.
Pricing and availability
The Sony Xperia XZ1 comes with a price tag of Rs 44,990 and will be available to purchase from Sony Center and both offline and online stores starting from today itself. Launch offers include – Rs. 1,000 discount on the Rs. 3,490 Style Stand Cover; 5 percent cashback on HDFC and ICICI cards, and zero percent EMI offers.
The Sony Xperia XZ1 Design and Features
The high-end Sony Xperia XZ1 comes with a loop surface design with a metal uni-body, there is a fingerprint scanner embedded on the power button which placed at the right edge of the device. The smartphone also comes with an IP68 certification which make it water and dust resistant. For audio, the smartphone comes with Hi-Res Audio, digital noise cancellation, S-Force surround sound, clear audio+, stereo speaker, and Qualcomm aptX audio software. The Xperia XZ1 will be available in Moonlit Blue, Venus Pink, Warm Silver, and Black colours. But as of Now it will be available only in Black color option.
The Sony Xperia XZ1 Specifications
The Sony Xperia XZ1 runs on and Android 8.0 Oreo operating system and sports a 5.2” full-HD (1080×1920 pixels) HDR display powered by Sony’s Triluminos display and X-Reality engine and dynamic contrast enhancement. The display is protected with Corning Gorilla Glass 5. The smartphone is powered by a 64-bit Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 SoC coupled with Adreno 540 GPU. It offers 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage which is further expandable up to 256GB via microSD card.
Coming on the main highlight of Smartphone, The Sony Xperia XZ1 comes equipped with 19MP MotionEye Exmor RS camera with 3D scanning abilities. The company claims can record super slow motion videos at 960 frames per second along with 4K video recording. Camera features include 1/2.3’ sensor along with predictive capture, autofocus burst, anti-distortion shutter, triple image sensing technology and 5-axis stabilisation. On the front there is a 13MP Exmor RS camera with an f/2.0 aperture and 22mm wide-angle lens for group selfies.
The Sony Xperia XZ1 is fueled by a 2700mAh battery with Qnovo Adaptive charging and Quick Charge 3.0 technology. Connectivity options include dual-SIM support, 4G LTE with Cat16 (with up to 1Gbps download speed), Bluetooth 5.0, NFC, USB Type-C port and MIMO WiFi. The handset measures 148x73x7.4mm and weighs 156 grams.
