Spain has introduced new Covid rules for holidaymakers, which will take effect on February 1. The new tightened rules were explained on Spain’s official tourism website.
The website stated: “From February 1 2022, in order to travel to Spain with a vaccination certificate, the certificate must have been issued by the competent authorities of the country of origin at least 14 days after the date of administration of the last dose of the full course of vaccination, as long as the final dose of that course of vaccination was no more than 270 days ago.
“From that date, the certificate must show the administration of a booster vaccination.”
Spain is one of Britons’ favourite holiday destinations.
To travel to the country, holidaymakers need to be fully vaccinated with at least two doses of a Covid vaccine.

Spain is following an EU recommendation to take into account the status of holidaymakers, and not their country of departure.
The EU recommendation reads: “This means that a traveller’s COVID-19 vaccination, test or recovery status, as evidenced by a valid EU digital COVID certificate, should be the key determinant.
“A person-based approach will substantially simplify the applicable rules and will provide additional clarity and predictability to travellers.”
British holidaymakers wanting to jet off to Spain will have to comply with the new vaccine certificate rules.

Andalucia is trying to extend the Covid passport rule for at least another two weeks.
The rule requires people show a Covid certificate to access hospitality and healthcare establishments.
Bars, restaurants and nightclubs all fall under the hospitality rule.
The region also decided to extend for another month the restrictions on opening hours and capacity.
