Spain is one of the UK’s top tourist destinations with many Britons flocking to the sunny hotspot every year. Many Britons choose to holiday in the Balearic islands.

Anyone planning a holiday in the Balearics with easyJet has been issued a travel warning as they book, reports Liverpool Echo.

Any tourist attempting to book an all inclusive holiday in the Balearics is given this message: “Due to a change in Spanish law which affects certain resorts in the Balearic islands, alcoholic drinks are now limited to three per person at lunch and dinner as part of the all inclusive basis.”

Britons attempting to book a holiday in one of the resorts are now subject to a tight six drink limit.

The new law came into force in 2020, but hasn’t had a huge impact yet due to the pandemic affecting travel.

The tough laws on the beautiful Spanish islands also ban happy hours, pub crawls and two for one drink offers.

Shops are also banned from selling alcohol between the hours of 9:30pm and 8am under the tough restrictions.

Party boats are also restricted in certain areas as is the advertising of the often raucous sea trips.

DON’T MISS

However, not every area of the islands is subject to the rules so British tourists should check before travelling.

The rules have been introduced as part of an effort to curb drunken rowdy behaviour in resorts such as Magaluf.

The infamous holiday resort is sometimes known as ‘Shagaluf’ and has been the centre of many incidents.

Before the pandemic, many British tourists travelled to the resort to let loose during the summer.

British travellers visiting Spain currently need to be fully vaccinated and only children under 12 are exempt.

From February 1, all tourists will need to have a booster vaccine if their second jab was more than 270 days ago.

Currently, British tourists also need to take a lateral flow test on or before day two after arrival in the UK.

However, this will be scrapped in February for fully vaccinated tourists as the Government lifts travel restrictions.
