Spotify may have a new name for its Anchor app

Audio streaming platform Spotify is reportedly doing away with the Anchor app and rebranding it as ‘Spotify Creator Studio‘.
“Anchor and Spotify for Podcasters are now Spotify Creator Studio, the all-in-one platform for creators of all kinds (and sizes) to express themselves and find success on Spotify,” reads the sample announcement in the survey.
According to a report by TechCrunch, the survey says that the streaming platform will soon introduce the app with a new moniker.

Currently, Spotify allows the podcasters on its platform to gain access to their show analytics irrespective of platform, be it Libsyn, Podbean or Buzzsprout, says the report.
Further, the Anchor app allows its hosts with features like subscription monetisation and video podcasts. However, access to the content remains with Spotify listeners.
Here’s what may change
The report cites, if the idea of rebranding is implemented as per the survey then Spotify for Podcasters would become ‘Spotify for Creator Studio– Unhosted’ whereas Anchor would be rebranded as ‘ Spotify Creator Studio– Hosted’, and would remain free.
A Spotify spokesperson was quoted as saying, “At Spotify, we routinely conduct a number of surveys and tests in an effort to improve our user experience. Some of these end up paving the path for our broader user experience and others serve only as important learning. We have no news to share on future plans at this time”.
Spotify Wrapped
Spotify recently introduced the “Wrapped” feature– a recap of what and whom everyone listened to throughout the year. Like every year it gave a glimpse of the songs/podcasts which the users listened to the most. Every year there is something new about the Wrapped, and this year’s Spotify Wrapped 2022 came up with the “music listening personality,” adding a bit of personal touch to the recap and also introduced “Audio Day.”
